Visiting the Turtle Center was delightful. It is a small exhibit, but all of the staff have a love for turtles and aquatic creatures. It was quite a special experience. Don't let the hours on Google..... more »
I took my 8, 5, and 1.5 year old here, and they all enjoyed it. They loved seeing Sweet Pea the turtle up close, and they also had jellyfish, seahorses, and other fish to look at. My older ones did a scavenger hunt and earned a bracelet which was a highlight for them. If I had been without 3 small impatient children, I'm sure I would have also enjoyed the informational signs and exhibits. The volunteers were incredibly knowledgeable and nice. They have a cute gift shop as well. I highly recommend stopping in if you are visiting Navarre!
We loved this place! My family visited recently while vacationing in Navarre. My small children feel in love with Sweet Pea and we made fast friends with a friendly guide who educated us on all aspects of sea turtle conservation. My kids will definitely ask to go back to check in on Sweet Pea the next time we are there. Also my kids are now asking for red filters on our flashlights when we look for crabs at night and they are closing our condo blinds at night so as to not confuse the sea turtles. Wonderful experience!
