  • Nice, clean, facility. A good break for the family. Not overly deep in information. Nice grounds and nice model of the boat they made the trip with, so you can see actual size.

  • This is a must do activity for anyone visiting Nebraska City. The museum features three floors with a informative film on the lowest level (which we recommend you watch first if possible). The story of Lewis and Clark and their discoveries is well depicted throughout the museum, though a few interactive exhibits are in need of repair. The Indian Earth lodge is well done and only requires a walk along a short paved path from the back of the museum; however, it could stand to some light maintenance. At the time of our visit, the museum was staffed by friendly teenagers - no rangers like at a National Park. They do, however, offer the Junior Ranger program, and the teen clerk is capable of administering the oath and badge to your kids. The association with the National Park system is obvious because of all the nonsensical signs that still remain. It is time to remove them.
  • We had such a fantastic time, and can’t wait to come back. The lady working was so helpful and kind. We learned a lot through all the exhibits. I do suggest sitting through the 30 minute video. My 11 year old girl really liked the video, as well as learned a lot. We hiked all the outdoor trails towards the river (will come back and hike the ones in the meadow). The earth lodge trail is paved and a definite must do. They do suggest a walking stick for the trails as some parts are briefly steep. We would agree-though we didn’t need one because we hike all the time. We ate our picnic lunch on the grounds, spent about 4-5 hours here.
