There is an air strip for small planes, the Nehalem Bay State Airport, and an amphitheater that has interpretative programs throughout the summer months.
The park is south of nearby Neahkahnie Mountain the highest coastal land mass north of San Francisco and south of Canada. The trail to the summit of the mountain was constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). in the 1930s. Nehalem Beach is within the park.

  • BEAUTIFUL park. Friendly park host and great views. The beach was clean and fun. The shower facilities were great, hot water and clean. I loved my spot B13, lots of room, and grass. Nehalem is so close to everything, I can’t wait to come back.
  • Awesome awesome awesome! We were able to find camping during a very busy weekend (e loop -- d, e, f loops are first come first served) and it's not even half filled in our loop. Clean bathrooms and showers, great access to beaches, nice staff. My only complaint is that it's $31 whether or not you want hookups. We are just in a tent and didn't need hookups but had to pay for them anyway.
