The Hocking Valley Scenic Railway is a non-profit, 501c3, volunteer-operated tourist railroad attraction that operates out of Nelsonville, Athens County, Ohio. It is also located near the popular Hocking Hills State Park in nearby Hocking County. It uses former trackage of the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway, which was in turn originally Hocking Valley Railway trackage. Went to celebrate 2 birthdays. A 3 year old and a 70 year old. We all had a great time. You get to see sites via rail and hear historical facts. If I had to find one negative, and that was hard, the speakers should be louder. Pro tip: bring a cushion. It's a bumpy ride.
