New Castle Trails is a group of New Castle community members and volunteers with a common goal of creating the best possible trail network in and around the Town of New Castle. Established in 2015 as a committee of the Roaring Fork Mountain Bike Association, New Castle Trail’s mission is to be both a resource and advocate for the planning, development, enjoyment, and long term care of sustainable trails. New Castle Trails performs advocacy for local trails with Federal, State and Town Agencies in addition to private landowners; Trail planning and development; Trail care education and maintenance; and promotion of trail information.Before you head to New Castle, plan trip itinerary details with our user-friendly New Castle online tour planner, to make sure you see all that New Castle has to offer, including Colorow Trail.
New Castle Trails to date has successfully coordinated with the Roaring Fork Mountain Bike Association and the Town of New Castle to begin the Environmental Review process with the Bureau of Land Management to add the North Colorow Social Trail network to their inventory. This effort is not complete to date and the trails remain closed to the public.
New Castle Trails is actively working to grow its’ efforts to include trail maintenance on Mansfield Ditch Trail (Forest Service Trail No. 2201) and Cherry Creek Trail and will continue to work with the Town of New Castle to develop the best possible trail network of soft, multi-use trails in town. New Castle Trails also hopes to assist Roaring Fork Mountain Bike Association in the development of the South Canyon area for trail use.
New Castle Trail’s is covered by Roaring Fork Mountain Bike Association’s 501c(3) non-profit status and operates on a very minimal budget that is dedication to carrying out projects. New Castle Trails works extensively with the Town of New Castle, but does not fall under is organizational structure.
