East Rock Park is a park in the city of New Haven and the town of Hamden, Connecticut that is operated as a New Haven city park. The park surrounds and includes the mountainous ridge named East Rock and was developed with naturalistic landscaping. The entire 427-acre (173 ha) park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

  • The park is quiet and overlooks New Haven. In the day, it seems to be safe as many people are jogging and walking their dogs. But it seems like it could be dangerous at night. The view of New Haven so much more impressive during the fall with the leaves changing color.
  • I loved that the road to the monument was paved and easily drivable but the yellow trail was not marked very well. We spent just as much time looking for markers as we did hiking... The white trail was fairly well marked
