  • We really enjoyed the self guided tour through the Pharmacy Museum. The price was reasonable and the girl at the counter was so nice. We loved the courtyard and history.

  • This was SUCH an interesting place! The building is old, but maintained well. You really get a sense of what it must have been like to walk into it when it was a functioning pharmacy in the 19th century. There are so many different artifacts from the medical field in general, but also specifically that relate to the history of pharmacy. I found the history of the original owner (which was the first licensed pharmacist in the United States) so very interesting. I spent over an hour walking around the two floors, reading the different notes on the exhibits, and looking at everything. It's a TON of information to digest, so even though it's small, one would need much more than an hour to get through EVERYTHING if you were reading everything. It is clear that the folks who maintain this museum care about the collection, and they've done a great job of making this a place that visitors can stop by and understand without a guide. The entry fee is very reasonable ($10 per adult). Unique in so many ways, this is definitely worth a stop!
  • Many interesting artifacts that are well preserved throughout the museum. They range from specific medicines used back in the 1800s to surgical tools for childbirth. There is also a beautiful back yard area where the sunlight hits just perfectly. Ominously the second floor is closed, and that just so happens to be where patients were treated… The tickets are a bit expensive, but overall it was an enjoyable experience.
