One of the oldest streets in the city, Royal Street runs straight through the famous French Quarter, noted for its street performers, galleries, hotels, shops, and restaurants. Dating from the French colonial era, the street is one of the most expensive places to shop in the world, with exclusive boutiques selling designer clothes, shoes, and jewelry. Some of the finer antique shops located here sell old, rare objects once owned by European royalty. If such expensive items are out of your price range, spend a little time window-shopping along the section of the street closed to traffic every afternoon, or explore the neighborhood's restaurants and cafes, most of which offer sidewalk seating. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Royal Street by using our New Orleans itinerary planning app.

This is my favorite street in the french quarter. The architecture is beautiful and epitomizes Nola. The shops are unique and wonderful - don't miss Bevola lights, really neat!

Runs one block away and parallel to Bourbon Street but a world away. Nice shoppes, galleries and almost like an oasis of sanity in this busy & bustling area.
