Anclote Key Preserve State Park is a Florida State Park and historic site, located on Anclote Key three miles (5 km) off Tarpon Springs along the Atlantic coastal plain. This state park is only accessible by boat. Amenities include primitive camping on the northern portion of the island as well as picnic pavilions and grills. Wildlife includes the American oystercatcher, bald eagle and piping plover. The park is unique in that a lighthouse, built in 1887, is on the southern end of the key in Pinellas County, Florida. Three Rooker Island, south of Anclote and part of the preserve, remains an important Gulf Coast beach-nesting bird sanctuary.

  • We rented a pontoon boat & enjoyed the trip around Anclote Key. Saw 2 manatee, a sea turtle, and a few large fish. Beautiful island. Next time we’ll rent the boat longer & go onto shore.  more »
  • Love the private beach at Anclote Key while boating with family and friends. We can play beach games like paddle ball, beach volleyball, frisbie and can do bar-b-cues too.  more »

  • Came by catamaran and stayed over night was beautiful and relaxing don't come if you don't like being woken up by a lot of sea birds. Being this is a sanctuary for birds. If your a bird enthusiasts you'll love it here. It's also a fantastic place for fishing. I just enjoy watching the people and nature and did I mention the dolphins, you'll see them too along with the most awesome sunsets.
  • It's a great place to go shelling and swim especially when the tide is on his way out. there are water taxis that bring people out to The Sandbar so they can walk around and enjoy the water and the boat ride out there. plenty of places to beach your boat and to go ahead and swim or even fish. Pristine beauty of this place is spectacular.
