Create an itinerary including Mohegan Bluffs
Look far out on the Atlantic Ocean from the top of Mohegan Bluffs before heading down to dig your feet into the sand at the bottom. The 46 m (150 ft) cliffs remain a favorite scenic point on Block Island, and they take their name from a 16th-century battle in which Niantic Native Americans sent invading Mohegans plummeting to their death below. Today, a steep staircase of about 100 steps provides safer access to the beach. Put Mohegan Bluffs and other New Shoreham attractions into our New Shoreham trip planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • We biked from town to the bluffs. Be prepared for the hills, but worth the views when you get there!
