    We were greeted by Mr Jimmy Harrell, the founders husband. He was so welcoming. Mrs. Harrell captured so much of the Black heritage of New Smyrna. I loved her glass collection and the story behind.....  more »

    The museum is located in a former Church and was started by Mary S Harrell who passed away two years ago. Her husband, Jimmy, is continuing her legacy of showcasing the area's black history as well.....  more »

    So much great information. Pat was a well-informed guide. A special privilege to meet Jimmy and learn about his wife and their contributions to this museum. I am thankful for all the amazing people who have contributed to the displays and information about the area's rich Black history.

    There is so much rich information in this museum. So much I learned in 2 plus hours. Mr. Harrell gave us a wonderful tour. I loved it so much that I will be bringing my aunt and mother back with me. I would love to see the black history through their eyes
