A bronze statue bringing Lewis Carroll's iconic book character to life, Alice in Wonderland Statue stands 3 m (11 ft) tall and depicts Alice sitting on a large mushroom surrounded by the Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit, and a few more of her friends. Sculpted in 1959 by artist Jose de Creeft, the sculpture depicts scenes from the original book illustrations. Pause with Alice and her friends while touring New York's famous park by bike, foot, horse drawn carriage, or pedicab. A beautiful statue set in Central Park NYC and a great photo opportunity! The area around the statue could have been better kept (the planting had been let-go somewhat) with quite a few weeds in the surrounding hedgerows and borders. The statue is directly next to the model boating pond, where you can hire toy boats to sail... A lovely family activity. The boat house had absolutely lovely plants and flowers - which served to distinguish between the statue area further.

Very nice statue, more so a playground for the children. They have benches all around, so you can easily watch the kids as they enjoy themselves. A big bronze statue to admire, all the hard workmanship put into it. But overall, not a must-see in my opinion when you visit New York, but worth visiting if you're in the area.
