Central Park, New York City

4.8
In the midst of all of the city's concrete and high-rises, Central Park brings greenery and shady places for relaxation--as well as a zoo, carousel, skating rink, theater, and several fountains--to the northern part of the city. Stroll, bike, picnic, or people-watch among 341 hectares (843 acres) of lakes, jogging paths, woodlands, walkways, lawns, and trees. One of the country's major historical landmarks, the park hosts frequent concert, plays, and art shows. Stop by the Alice in Wonderland statue, a favorite place for photos. • The Park occupies much of the central area of Manhattan. Has several leisure options, but even if you don't choose any activity he is an attraction in itself. Beautiful landscape and great place to take pictures.

  • The oasis of New York. Calm, green and many beautiful fountains, statues, etc. actually offer everything the visitors with leisure. The boathouse is a definite must.

  • On of the most amazing parks ever visited. The only one which comes in to comparison would be London park. No visit to New York should end without visiting this amazing place.  more »

  • Beautiful and varied open space in the centre of a concrete jungle. Lots to see - highlights include the many lakes and wild turtles! Nice views of the city over the treetops, which also means there is plenty of shade. The park is huge so you will always find a good spot to chill out. Lovely to and see how the locals use their treasured green space! As tourists we hired bikes for 2 hours and still didn't manage to see everything.
  • Wonderful place to ride a cycle, get a horse carriage ride, long walks, or just relax and people watch. You can take the outside food in the park. The food stalls outside the park are also worth trying. Park will often have entertaining people, and talented individuals to showcase their art. You can also get yourself sketched. All in all it's a good place for people watching and a spot for one day picnic.
  • Amazing place! If you are a tourist, I highly recommend renting a bike for touring. The rentals are cheap and you can see the whole park in a day with stops in some key areas. Should have paid $60 for two bikes for a day, but because we accepted a card from someone on the street and presented it upon arrival, our total cost for 2 bikes, helmets and a lock was $16 for 4 hours. Best spent $16 ever. Amazing spot in the heart of a fast paced city.
  • Definitely a well designed park. Despite the hustle and bustle of the surrounding city, Central Park provides a much needed escape. Even though you are surrounded by nearly nine million people Central Park is still relatively quiet. You can easily find spots that you can't see another human being or a skyscraper. I recommend visiting Central Park at least once.
  • This is my final stop. Just had an awesome day exploring Harlem (food and the city) and came to Central Park to chill. It's truly a great park. It's hard to imagine such a nice and Green Park right next to all the skyscraper. It's an awesome place to chill, relax from the busy city life. Definitely stop by the park towards the end of your trip. It's amazing even if you're just sitting on the grass or the rocks or watching a random softball game.
