Greenwich Village, New York City

Regarded as a haven for creative types from the late 19th century till the late 20th century, Greenwich Village served as the birthplace for the Beat generation and 1960s counterculture in the East Coast. Though a victim of gentrification, the Village--as it's known by locals--still possesses a strong community identity. The best way to get a feel for this is to stroll through the area. Make sure to stop by the historic Washington Square Park and the nearby Grey Art Gallery, which houses New York University's art collection. The neighborhood also boasts a strong performing arts scene with many theaters. To learn more about the area's important history and architecture, take a guided tour. • We walked in this residential neighborhood, with houses of bricks, the search of the 2 main points of interest: facade of the Friends ´ Apartment (from the tv show Friends), which is on the corner of Bedford St and Groove St. and also the House of Sex The City television series & on 66 Perr y Street. Exciting ... In both cases, there were several tourists taking pictures in front of the place. In the television series House Sex the City there's a & rope and is no longer allowed to sit on the steps for photos, plus a sign asking for silence because it is residential area. Near there is a Magnolia Bakery of the show. There are other stores in NY.
