They are reconstructing the stairs which I'm happy about. They were very old and tearing apart. It has been closed for a while can't wait for them to open it up again. Nice shade , peaceful and you can sit there without any problems. Sometimes the dogs can be a bit too much (for people allergic to them) a lot of dog walkers eat their lunch here.
Nice picturesque monument in Riverside Park (in sliver of land on eastern bank of Riverside a little separate from the main park.) Closed to the public for restoration and some logistical things being done. It should be reopened for walk-throughs soon.
