The Immigrants reviews
Great place for having great conversations. I prefer the left side, or “Tap Room”. It’s quieter and (slightly) less warm than the other side. Although I was on vacation, came here at least 3 times. The bartenders were always extremely courteous.
Went to the wine bar side. It was a nice enough experience. My group wanted to love it, but felt like the man running the bar just wanted to go home. Dropped a charcuterie plate and a glass of wine he felt paired well with the platter without telling us what wine it was or what cheeses were on the plate. To his credit, he chose a great wine! I finished my glass well before the rest of my party and he never came back to ask if I wanted another glass. So I drank one glass when I would have more than happily have had two. I wouldn’t go out of your way if you’re craving good cheese. The cheeses were pretty ordinary and forgettable. The warm pita was the star of the plate. Feels like a great neighbourhood bar, just not sure it’s worth seeking out.
