REX HILL has been making elegant Pinot Noirs for over 35 years, a true legacy winery in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. In 2006, the founding family sold REX HILL to the two families behind A to Z Wineworks. Case production was reduced by almost 80% to focus and refine REX HILL wines to be of the utmost quality and distinction. This commitment to superior quality wines extends to farming with organic and Biodynamic principles; year-round responsiveness to site, vintage and climate; and careful hand-selection of only the best clusters at harvest.Make REX HILL Winery & Vineyards part of your personalized Newberg itinerary using our Newberg journey planning tool.
We believe in blending as the key to producing wines of complexity with the greatest nuance, echoing both vintage and site. Picking decisions are made according to true grape maturity rather than predetermined metrics. This requires multiple passes through each vineyard during harvest to select grapes that are fully developed in ripeness as well as fermenting each block separately to preserve the unique flavors. Our vineyards are planted with a variety of clones and we often use selection massale to propagate our vines, further adding to the complexity of our finished wines.
The resulting wines are built to age with impeccable balance of acidity, tannin, fruit and body, a reflection of our careful attention to producing superior wines.

Red Hill is the first winery we visited on mother's day weekend. we had such a wonderful experience there. their wine tastes outstanding and the staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about their wine. the person who helped us that day was super nice. if I wasn't tipsy already I should have been able to remember his name. The outdoor seating on the balcony has beautiful view. the area right in front of the winery is perfect for family with little kids. I saw kids running around having fun when the parents relaxing and having glass of wine. we absolutely enjoyed our time there.
Extremely nice place. The property and buildings are well cared for and nicely maintained.
