Downing Film Center, Newburgh

Great little theater! Prices were very good. We purchased two drinks, a popcorn and a candy for only $9. Seats are comfortable, well sized and rock a little so you can lean back if you'd like to. Parking was good also. Will definitely return.

The Downing Film Center, is a Gem of the Hudson Valley! The owners, Brian and Sharron, make me feel welcomed from the second that they see me. They ask me how I am dong, and why they haven't seen me in a while....Their staff is very knowledgeable and welcoming, also. The Downing shows some great and riveting movies, from independent producers, that may not be shown on the larger Multi-Plexes... Every movie that I have seen at the Downing has been great. Often after seeing a movie at the Downing, my curiosity will be piqued, and I will do some research on my own about either the characters, or a subject in the movie. Watching a movie here, is an enjoyable experience, as the theater is a very intimate setting. It is one level, with very comfortable chairs that recline, and can rock. The Theatre can seat 55 people. There is free parking and the theater is Handicapped accessible.. Also there are many restaurants nearby, and I have gotten something to eat prior to watching the movie. The theatre just got a new Digital projector, and screen, and now the sharpness and clarity of the movie is incredible.
