  • We always go at least once a year. Just a great 2 hour cruise on a nice boat with a friendly captain on a unique lake.

  • My husband and I took the Northern Star Fall Folliage 2-hour tour. It was quite cold in the 40's with a strong breeze. The sun was out and one couldn't ask for a better day. As new Vermonters we...

  • What a wonderfulexperience for our anniversary. We signed up for the brunch cruise and wasn’t disappointed. The boat ride was smooth, the views were amazing and the staff was a delight. We sat with the captain for the last 20 minutes and he told us lots of great funny stories. I would highly recommend this experience.
  • We booked a trip on this ship to celebrate my father-in-law's 91-st birthday. He couldn't have asked for a better present! From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family. The welcome was warm, and every effort was made to help our senior citizen on board and up the rather steep stairs. This ship has three levels. The bar is on the lowest level, there is an air-conditioned ground level, and the top deck is partly uncovered for people who prefer to be outside. Throughout our trip, all windows were opened because it was a sunny day, and it was as if we were sitting outside. Thanks to crew mate Heather, my father-in-law was invited to sit with the captain, giving him the best seat in the house. He was even allowed to steer the boat for a while, which -as a navy veteran- made his day. The trip itself is very relaxing. Expect to see lots of open water, private islands, picturesque lake homes, secluded coves, and bits of Canada. Water and snacks are complimentary, and there's a well-stocked bar with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. All forms of payment are accepted, including Apple Pay. The crew is extremely personable, and we became instant friends. This includes the captain who was born to tell stories and entertain. We left his ship even happier than we arrived. Lake Memphremagog is one of Vermont's hidden secrets. So, if you're coming to Newport, please support this floating non-profit and book a cruise. There are several each day. You'll be so glad you did. My father-in-law couldn't stop talking about it. Thanks to the Northern Star and its fabulous crew, it was a day he will always cherish and remember, and so will we!
