Embark on a guided or self-guided tour of Battleship Wisconsin at Nauticus, one of the largest battleships the U.S. Navy has ever constructed. The giant, decommissioned battleship, known as "Wisky," was launched Dec. 7, 1943, and served in World War II and the Korean War. Take a tour of the deck, which runs just over 270 m (887 ft). Then choose from two guided tours of the interior of the ship: The Topside Tour provides a look at the administration area, radio room, captain's cabin, and combat engagement center. The Main Street USN Tour gives you a glimpse into the life of a common sailor aboard the ship, where you'll see the ship's laundry, bakery, doughnut shop, and galley. This was such an awesome experience! I’ve never been on a WWII Battleship before. The experience is two parts - naval history museum and the battleship. You can do guided tours or just walk the ship on your own. They’ve done a great job preserving this piece of history as well as describing the ship and life aboard it. I highly recommend this. Plus it’s a very affordable experience. All in all an excellent piece of military history!!
This ship holds so many secrets. I am a lead investigator for Haunted Nights Paranormal Events and we booked a private paranormal investigation for the night. Had a sold out crowd and everyone had a blast. The curators were very informative about the history of the ship and showing us all of the history that took place on that ship. Little needs to be said that there was great paranormal activity and can't wait to go back. Thanks to the staff for keeping a beautiful ship beautiful.
