The MAPS Air Museum is an aviation museum in Green, Ohio, United States. Run by the Military Aviation Preservation Society, it is located off SR241 on the west side of the Akron-Canton Regional Airport.
The museum holds more than 50 aircraft, most on loan from the U.S. Air Force or Navy for restoration. It also has two aircraft from the Goodyear Rubber Company. The aircraft are displayed in a former U.S. Air National Guard hangar and on an adjacent tarmac.

Its collection of rare artifacts includes the gondola from the "Spirit of Akron", a Goodyear blimp.

The museum's Gallery of Heroes room holds detailed models and period items from wars. Various displays highlight Pearl Harbor (artifacts include a piece of the battleship Arizona), The Tuskegee Airmen, Rosie the Riveter, and include items on loan from members of the museum and community who fought in wars.

The museum's library maintains and preserves institutional records and collects, preserves, and makes available images, literature, manuscripts, memoirs, diaries, books, and oral histories relating to military history. The library collection is open to the public with admission to the museum. Members may check books out.

  • If aviation or military buff it is worth the visit. Planes are mostly rejects from other museums. But a few you can enter. Military items are Ohio focused. Can cover in 2 hours.

  • The museum has an excellant website so I'll leave it it to provide details. Easy to find with good signage. A large complex with numerous buildings that are off limits to visitors and the large hangar and ramp area. Volunteers were very helpful. Not always very knowledgeable about the artifacts but very helpful and motivated. The admission is about $16 with various discounts. Seems like $16 is the price to get in anywhere. Artifacts have been restored to look like famous aircraft. But the only really historic aircraft is a circa 1908 Martin Glider. Twenty + aircraft are displayed outside. Some freshly painted. They won't last long exposed to heat, cold and constant sun. There is a F7U hulk, partially dismantled, that is unique. The museum has a HUGE gift shop. MAPS is a very nice medium sized aviation museum. The staff are a big plus. And the accommodation for young people are great assets.
  • A pretty good display of military (mostly) aviation and other military with Ohio connections. Staff very informative, friendly and helpful. And a Goodyear blimp gondola! If you read every display you can easily spend a day or more here!
