The Linn Cove Viaduct is a 1,243 feet (379 m) long, concrete segmental bridge which snakes around Grandfather Mountain in western North Carolina. Completed in 1983 at a cost of $10 million, it was one of the last major construction projects on the Blue Ridge Parkway which runs 469 miles (755 km) linking Shenandoah National Park to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Built mostly along the spine of the Blue Ridge, the parkway was fully completed and opened for through traffic in 1987.

  • Its truly an incredible view from here. The whole blue ridge parkway is pretty much scenic view, here you can stop at the Linn Cove Viaduct visitor center and from there you can take a good hike...  more »

  • Beautiful all year round but breathtaking during fall season. We always come back here. Visitor center is informative. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
  • Gorgeous views! There are also hiking trails and a visitors center with restrooms. You can view underneath the Viaduct on the trail. We love to go when the rhododendron are blooming. Great place to check out. My family loves visiting here.
