The Aerospace Museum of California is a private non-profit aviation museum located in North Highlands, California, outside of Sacramento, California, on the grounds of the former McClellan Air Force Base. The museum has a 4-acre outdoor Air Park, a large indoor exhibit space, a classroom, theater, conference room, and gift shop. Featured displays include: authentic military and civilian aircraft, rockets, historic World War II artifacts, objects from the Apollo missions, and an extensive collection of piston and jet engines. The museum preserves the history of the former base while supporting current STEM educational standards through its programming and exhibits.Plan my North Highlands trip by asking Inspirock to come up with tips and suggestions.

Not bad at all. I would have liked it to have more NASA stuff and people who knew about it but I got a tour and detailed explanations for the old war planes. The guy was very knowledgeable and he volunteered his time. Overall, it was worth the small fee and my time. I highly recommend.

Located at McClellan Park (formerly McClellan AFB), this museum has on display a number of vintage era fighter and various support aircraft used by the U.S. Military. There are a couple of extra types of aircraft included as well. The interior of this museum has a large display of early engines used in aircraft, to the present day, well displayed and with informative text. This area also displays other equipment used by our fighting men and women. Upstairs there are many simulators that are used to demonstrate the joys (and challenges) of flying to young people interested in aerospace that frequently visit on field trips. Inexpensive to enter, and well worth the price of admission. Highly recommend to anyone interested in aerospace, and American aviation history.
