  • Well maintained wire bridge, may be the last one around. Views from the bridge are amazing, we may return in the fall.

  • After a stop at Smalls Falls, we drove to The Wire Bridge. It's a unique bridge, perhaps the last in the WORLD. It was completed in 1866, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in...

  • So totally worth the small side trip. Beautiful and beautifully maintained example of New England craftsmanship and engineering, crossing an equally beautiful brook. Walk on it to feel it move under you. Drive to the middle and pause to thrill the kids. Small parking and picnic area on the north side of the span. Wood plank road bed is uneven and has gaps, and the bridge is designed to sway laterally, so take extreme care on two-wheels of any flavor. If you're within 20 miles, don't miss it.
  • Wire bridge is a great place to rest, eat, or get your feet wet. Easy to access parking on both sides of the bridge, and the bridge itself is unique and picturesque. Only con is no separate walking area on the bridge, so you’re essentially walking where the vehicles drive across. The bridge isn’t too long so it’s pretty quick to cross it by foot.
