The Arboretum (Arb) consists of approximately 800 acres (324 hectares) of land adjacent to the College and was created in the 1920's. It is in the process of being restored back to its original state, including prairie, oak savanna and forest. The Arb is an excellent resource in education, conservation, and recreation for both Carleton and the larger community of Northfield.
