Northeast Classic Car Museum, Norwich

The Northeast Classic Car Museum is a not-for-profit educational facility in Norwich, New York that collects, preserves, interprets and exhibits vehicles related to the evolution of transportation, with particular emphasis on the role of the automobile and its impact on American culture.
The majority of the collection within this museum is from the private collection of George Staley car collection in Lincklaen, New York. Staley was running out of room for his personal collection and was approached by the planners from Norwich wanting to build a museum.
The Northeast Classic Car Museum opened on Memorial Day weekend 1997. Over 160 vehicles from 1899 through the early 1970s are on display in five connected buildings. Permanent exhibits feature Franklin automobiles, luxury vehicles, post-war vehicles, and cars made in New York State. Other exhibits are featured on a changing basis.

  • Attended for a wedding in the event room. Had a chance to walk through the museum. I'm not a car person, but it was still enjoyable! The museum is a lot bigger than it appears and there are many beautiful cars in great condition. Definitely worth a stop in. The venue space was large and can easily be transformed into the space someone wants!
  • Great place to see vintage early 1900 cars and learn history. 70s cars very cool and nostalgic. Well worth 10 admission price. Plan on 3 hours minimum. 4-5 more relaxed if truly want to appreciate the museum.
