Nu’uanu Pali melds scenic vistas with a site of deep historical and cultural significance. The point, sitting over 305 m (1,000 ft) above Oahu's coastline, provides panoramic views of the Koolau cliffs and Windward Coast. Bring your camera along to capture images of Kāne'ohe, Kāne'ohe Bay, and Kailua. The tranquility and beauty of this spot seems at odds with its dark history. It was the site of one of the bloodiest battles in Hawaiian history, the Battle of Nu'uanu in 1795, in which King Kamehameha I conquered Oahu. Nu'uanu Pali is also known for its incredibly strong winds. Avoid wearing skirts, dresses, or hats, or be prepared to hold on tight to them. Take the guesswork out of planning a Kaneohe vacation by using our trip itinerary maker.

  • It’s a amazing lookout. That said, it’s just a lookout with nothing to “do”, or buy. Someone said you have to pay for parking which is weird since you are only going to be there for 10-15 minutes...

  • Absolutely beautiful. Thanks to the other reviewers for giving me a head's up about the wind. Yep, tie down your hat. Even on a lightly foggy day, this was a worthwhile trip.

  • Is is a very cool place to look out over the valley. It is a historical place in Hawaiian history, as you can read the story in the picture below. It tends to be windy here and beware of the bees ( I am allergic to them). You can get to the point from either direction you are traveling on the main road. You do need to pay to park and probably will have to use your phone & qr code, as the machines were not in service.
  • Its a bit foggy when we went here but still enjoyed the view. I love it! Awesome view. My eyes were full. Agreed to other review $7 parking is somehow overkill. Im wondering why they cant charge per hour?
