  • Our family loves walking around the mill and watching the animals around the dam. As a child, I used to love finding and catching crayfish under the rocks on the lower dam shore and my daughter loves it now too. The mill museum is also a great place to show kids how grains were milled in the past and help them connect how foods like bread get to the table. Personally, I loved the Civil War camp reenactments the most. The Union Soldiers would stay in character many times and made for a very entertaining time, almost making me feel like I was there in the early 1860s.I really hope the county decides to preserve the dam.
  • Best place to walk along a tree lined path next to Salt Creek! Great mill ground corn meal is sold on Thurs., Fri. and Sat. Bridges, dams, parking, buildings, tours, special events, rentals, etc.
