Pacific Northwest Naval Air Museum, Oak Harbor

#3 of 11 in Things to do in Oak Harbor
Military Museum · Hidden Gem · Museum
Our initial mission was to preserve the PBY and all seaplanes once based at the seaplane facility on Whidbey Island. We now include all aircraft that have been based and flown from NAS Whidbey Island from 1942 to the present day.

Beginning with the past and moving through to the present day, young and old alike will enjoy a memorable journey through history at the PBY Memorial Foundation’s PBY-NAVAL AIR MUSEUM ( previously the Naval Heritage Center and Naval History Center) located in Oak Harbor Washington. From displays dedicated to all wars and conflicts from WWII to today, to impressive artifacts, two flight simulators and more, the PBY-NAVAL AIR MUSEUM promises to educate and entertain!

Do you love history, classic aircraft – maybe both? Come join us! We are looking for more members and volunteers!

  • We enjoyed going through this museum. Even with a few experiences closed due to COVID-19 restrictions, the history and artifacts were well worth the visit. Thank you for your hospitality!  more »
  • Intesting Naval historical museum. Lots of stuff to see in a small space. Be sure to go across the street to see the seaplane. Staff were very nice. Gentleman that gave me the "outside" tour was very nice and informative. Be sure to make a donation! It's a worthy cause that honors our well-deserving service members.
  • It is as it is described. Maritime patrol aviation was important during previous wars and is still important today. Museum is small but informational. There is a flight simulator and a small theater. Well worth the July pricing of 5 dollars.
