Redwood Regional Park, Oakland

The sight drop on the map seems to change, due to the dual nature of Skyline Boulevard (it has the same address at the preserve on Skyline just south of the Joaquin Miller Road intersection, as Roberts Regional Park's 115000 address UP Skyline Boulevard FROM the same intersection. If coming from Joaquin Miller to the south, cross the intersection with the light. It becomes Skyline. make a turn through the island in the middle of the road into the loop shaped parking lot which is visible on the map. If coming up Skyline from the south, simply pull into the lot, which is the only possible right turn BEFORE the intersection mentioned above, where from this direction Skyline BECOMES Joaquin Miller Road. :-D
Redwood Regional Park is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our international travel planner, Oakland Edition.

  • It's a nice park for light hiking with friends and family, and even with your best friend, if you look for a relaxing and quiet place for some exercise.  more »
  • Beautiful redwood trees, a nice walk on a sunny warm day. Just minutes from downtown Oakland and a quick drive up the hill. You can only get this release in the Bay Area.  more »

  • Another gem to escape from the commotion of the bay area. I love the solidarity of this park. The trails can be quick for a family picnic or all day for an athletic person like myself. Easy to get lost in peace. I recommend the French trail!!!
  • Tons of great trails and beautiful redwood views. This park is a great place to go if you want to see beautiful California redwoods but don't want to brave the Muir woods crowd. The various trails have a mix of shades and sunny areas, and a mix of elevation changes for any hikers that prefer either. The skyline gate is a great place to start, the earlier the better in order to get parking, there is a lot but you can park on the shoulder right nearby.
