It's not fair to just call it "petrified wood". You'll see a type of wood and sculptures made from it that you'll probably never see anywhere else.

I really enjoyed my visit to the Petrified Wood Museum/Gallery today! The displays are well done, with many interesting varieties of petrified wood and the miniature houses, pictures and other objects made from pieces of it. And the Native American-themed art and artifact displays, and more; and a nice gift shop. And the staff were very friendly and helpful. It's well worth a visit (no admission charge)!

A surprisingly large collection of petrified wood and other assortments. Great for petrification nerds and people who just like pretty things alike. I got the chance to talk with the two brothers who assembled the collection. If they're in that day, they're more than willing to give you a personal tour and share some cool stories. When I asked them why they got into collecting petrified wood in the first place, they shrugged their shoulders and said, "It was something to do"
