Create an itinerary including Perkins Cove
One of coastal Maine's many charming waterfront areas, Perkins Cove evolved thanks to the efforts of local fishermen who wanted to protect their boats. The cove is a conglomeration of what were once a separate river and inlet; after fishermen constructed a canal, erosion created the body of water in place today. You can explore the seaside and its host of dunes and beaches, as well as the town of Ogunquit, a former artists' colony home to shops, studios, and eateries. Be sure to try some fresh lobster, a regional specialty, from the restaurants around the cove. Discover how to plan a Ogunquit trip in just a few steps with Inspirock's itinerary builder.

  • Nice place, especially if you are stayng nearby. But not too many open shops, etc. Parking is a ripoff, and required, as there is no street parking, so plan accordingly.

  • Beautiful but EXPENSIVE. The views are amazing, the parking is pricey and so is the food. I love that the lobsters are boat to restaurants. 32 dollars for a lobster roll, insane!
