Bike, hike, or whitewater raft along the Youghiogheny River Gorge at Ohiopyle State Park. This park, which opened in 1965, features 23 km (14 mi) of the Youghiogheny River and boasts some of the best rafting in the eastern United States. Different parts of the park offer level I and II rapids, while another section affords the more difficult level III and IV rapids. Take in stunning views of the park's many waterfalls, including the 6.1 m (20 ft) Ohiopyle Falls, as you raft. Another favorite is the park's natural Meadow Run Waterslides, which have been carved out by nature and function like a waterpark waterslide in a natural setting, only a bit rougher. You can also canoe, kayak, horseback ride, and even cross-country ski through this 19,052 hectare (7,710 acre) park with over 160 km (100 mi) of trails. Ohiopyle State Park Reviews
Built to take you ringside to a mighty waterfall and rapids. Especially so during high water. Easy parking and a beautiful visitor center with sparkling bathrooms more »
Was in the area for a weekend in February. There was a nice fresh coating of snow from the day before. The visitor center was nice with paths to the falls and white water. We hiked to Cucumber Falls..... more »
Absolutely amazing place to be! My first time here was a bike ride on the Harley and we had just heard of it, but it honestly blew my mind!!! The next weekend we took the kids with us and we were NOT disappointed. Beautiful views, waterfalls, natural water slides, swimming areas, hiking trails, kayaking, white water rafting, biking, camping, playgrounds, zip lining, many different eateries and desert spots... anything you can imagine, they have it. We spent an entire day day there but can’t wait to go spend an entire weekend! Want to get away for a few hours? This is the place! Need a mini vacation? This is the place! Need a family day or a couples getaway? THIS IS THE PLACE!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
This place is fantastic! There are plenty of trails for hiking and bikes. The shops are nice and you can get some good food. I usually ride in the trail that goes to Washington and it's very natural and we'll maintained. In the way you can sit on boulders along the river and enjoy the beauty of it. I highly recommend it!
