Create an itinerary including Rialto Beach
Take in the spectacular driftwood formations at Rialto Beach, a pebbly beach contained within Olympic National Park. It can be a bit of a scramble over logs and rocks to reach the beach, depending on the tide, but you'll be rewarded with great views. The picturesque beach offers a stunning view of the Pacific Ocean from Washington's west coast. The driftwood, both onshore and offshore, casts interesting patterns on the ocean's surface. Photographers will enjoy spending time playing with angles and perspectives offered by the intersecting pieces. • Follow Hole-in-the-Wall hiking trail will guide you to a beautiful place for sunset photos. Walk on the beach is not easy due to log debris and rocks.

  • This is a really neat place even on a gloomy cloudy day. We hiked the beach to get to Hole in the Wall, make sure you go during low tide (see pic for August 2022 tide schedule). Lots of rocks at this beach and very little sand so wear hiking boots if you plan on going there. Lots to look at with all the fallen trees, lots of interesting rocks on the beach, didn’t see any shells.
  • Beautiful beach in Washington! Tides were high and very frequent made us bit worried but it was fantastic evening to spend with friends and family. There were many drift wood piles lying on the beach but kids can surely play in sand and water. Loved the sound of ocean waves. Parking is decent size with limited restrooms. Seems pretty popular place in summer. Nearest food of gas station is about 8 miles away.
