Joslyn Art Museum reviews
This was a large beautiful museum. The sections flowed really nicely into one another and I did not feel overwhelmed. The staff was friendly and helpful when we needed information. The common... more »
As always , the museum never disappoints..The wonderful thing is the number of children that are always looking at both the artistic as well as historical exhibits. Great experience. more »
The whole family admired the beautiful art work on display. The blown glass exhibits are enormous! They are beautiful, eye catching pieces on both ends of the lobby. I loved the pottery collection as well. The boys thought the Art of Seating exhibit was interesting. Two thumbs up from the whole family.
Great museum that's ruined by the staff that follow you around and tell you to step back from the displays. I was telling my two sons about the art and pointing out details. A staff member approached and told me to step back because the camera angles looked like I was touching it. I apologized and we moved on. Less than 10 minutes later another staff approached us and told us not to "point" at the paintings because it could be taken as us trying to touch. Getting frustrated we moved on. The next room contained an amazing chest of drawers in figured walnut. I am a woodworker and excitedly began to point out details to my sons. For the third time a staff member approached and told me that I need to step back from the art. "You need to move back at least a foot...actually more like two feet. You need to maintain at least two feet from the displays". After that we just kinda walked through the rest and then left.
