  • We loved this place overlooking Lake Ontario. History truly comes alive with a visit to the fort. It is beautifully preserved, and a visitor can really get a feeling of what it was like to have...

  • The reenactment staff was extremely knowledgeable. I love history this was very informative. I had no clue almost 1000 people were brought here in 1945 from Italy that were fleeing German occupied countries. I definitely recommend. If I could I would give it 1000 stars.
  • If you're a history buff, this is a neat place to spend a couple hours wandering around. The staff/ volunteers were dressed in Civil War period clothing and were knowledgeable and helpful in answering questions about the fort. There was a musket demonstration, and visitors have access to most of the buildings and areas. If there is a gift shop, it was not open the day we were there visiting. There is a historical cemetery behind the fort dating back to 1776/1783. Was sombering to see gravestones of soldiers who lost their lives for their country. Overall it was interesting to see the long and varied history of this fort.
