  We took our kids hiking here. We have a one year old and nine year old. It was beautiful and an easy hike to the first fall. Beautiful and serene. The higher you the go the more difficult it gets so I'd scout it out before taking kids to the higher waterfalls.

  We hiked to the Falls on the Perimeter trail starting at the trail head across the street from the Visitors Center. This is an easy hike although you do have some elevation climb at the beginning. Its a nice way to see the Falls and a great view of the City. Be sure to take water. The hike is less than an hour to the Falls but gets hot in the summer. From the trail you can take a foot path and hike behind the falls about a third of the way up. From the falls you can hike back on the trail or walk through town to get back to the trail head parking lot. The climb at the beginning might be a little difficult for small children. The alternative is to drive to the base of the Falls and view it from there.
