Take in panoramas of the forest, surf, and sand, and watch for birds, seals, and whales on Asilomar State Beach. Walk down the 1.2 km (.75 mi) coastal trail through native vegetation. Watch for moon jellies and tiny crabs and investigatesee the tide pools and rock formations as you stroll along the 1.6 km (1 mi) beach. Snorkel or scuba dive to get up close with marine life offshore. The trail leading to the beach is wheelchair accessible and beach wheelchairs are available to rent. Cycling is permitted on the nearby bike lane. Note that the beach does not have restrooms.   • Beautiful even in the fog. Boardwalks, churning waves crashing on rocky shores, flowers even in September.
