Antelope Canyon, Page

4.5
A sacred site for the Navajo, Antelope Canyon includes not one but two slot canyon sections, formed over thousands of years by erosion and flash flooding. While the Navajo call this canyon "the place where water runs through rocks," most tourists come to know the upper section as the Crack, and the lower as the Corkscrew. The Navajo restrict entry to official tours led by authorized guides, who take visitors to spots best suited for photographing the unusual play of light against the steep rock walls. To access certain areas of the canyon, you may have to climb a series of steep stairs, so be sure to wear comfortable hiking shoes. Ensure entry on the day of your visit by booking well in advance. • Such a beautiful preservation place to see the beauty of Mother Nature creations. Great experience but didn’t really like how they organized the tours and how tourists manage the control of the crowds. Even though our tour was very nice but don’t like how she kept rushing us.
  • Amazing place and less commercial than Grand Canyon. Beautiful rock formations. Inside the Canyon, you would feel like as if you are in a different planet. I recommend going early in the morning to allow yourself more time in the Canyon. There are many opportunities to take amazing pictures. Highly recommended.
  • Let me answer your questions quickly... 1. Yes you need to see this 2. Yes you need a tour guide 3. Take the midday tour time frame and summer is better but anytime you can get here is worth it 4. Upper and lower canyons are close and yes you can do both in one day but you need to check with your tour group for which one they do. 5. The ride to upper is in a dirt wash that is only mildly rough and only about 3 miles (10 minutes avg) of a ride. 6. The walk inside the canyon is flat and easy. Only about 1/2 mile long at a snails pace. 7. Total time including getting to the tour co to the time you are back and done on the avg tour is about 2 to 2.5 hours. 8. Yes you will get dusty 9. If you don’t go to antelope canyon and you are in or near Page you will regret it.
  • Words can’t describe the beauty of this slot canyon, a must see if you are visiting Arizona. Is highly recommend to book your visit several month in advance(60 dollar for the tour plus 8 dollars for the Indian reserve), the tour consist in a 10 min Jeep, 1h in the canyon and 10 min to go back. The guide will also support you to take the best pictures with some helpful tips.
  • Gorgeous place. In summer go very hydrated. Careful for crevices you may find scorpions or black widows. Remember that is always full, you will be down there with hundreds of people. They move you quickly. It’s a great money maker but also very unique. Our guides were fun and friendly. Always making conversation.
