As Colorado’s first and most beloved (or bee-loved!) meadery, Meadery of the Rockies makes an array of honey-based wines, all starting with pure, raw Orange Blossom honey.

Owners Glenn and Natalie Foster have been involved in the Colorado wine industry for more than 16 years. Due to growing up and working in northern California’s wine country, Glenn is a second-generation winemaker whose father, Reed Foster Sr., co-founded and operated Sonoma’s Ravenswood Winery for 30 years. This foundation, along with a leap of faith to take part in Colorado’s burgeoning wine business in the 1990s, led to a successful career in winemaking for Glenn. A passion for falconry inspired Glenn to name his company Talon Wine Brands.

Talon Wine Brands encompasses Meadery of the Rockies and sister wineries St. Kathryn Cellars and Talon Winery. Talon Wine Brands produces 40+ wines, employs 20 people in Palisade, and ships to 19 states.

  • We rented bikes and this was one of our stops on our tour. Ann and Katy served our group and did an amazing job. We had so much fun learning about the wines and spending time here.

  • The tastings and purchases take place at Talon/ St Kathryns tasting room. It seems the Meadery has been bought out. The names of the meads have been dumbed down, IMO. But the meads are still unique...

  • Ann was amazing during our visit! She shared very interesting information and was so pleasant. My husband tried his first mead and loved it! Just got back to OH and ordered 4 bottles! Shipping was only $10. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
  • We had an afternoon tour with Katy this past Saturday. The scene was unassuming and relaxed atmosphere. The wine, mead, and fruit wines were all tasty and creative. We really enjoyed the relaxed attitude and kick back attitude of the tasting room. We ended up purchasing a few bottles as there were so many options to choose from; there is something exciting that will hit your palate.
