Moorten Botanical Garden, Palm Springs

Wonderful local desert 🏜botanical garden with with small nursery sales and interesting Spanish Colonial Revival historic home. The gardens, home and nursery should not be realistically labeled as disabled accessible. But at least the staff was helpful and friendly trying to get my travel companion through the rough garden paths and dropped off at the formidable curb and steep entry.

This was one of the absolute highlights of my trip to Palm Springs. The husband in the couple that owns it is the son of the original owner (whose name was, and I kid you not, Cactus Slim Moorten). The care they and their family have put into this from maintaining the garden to creating educational hand drawn placards is evident. It’s a real treat. Lastly they also have lots and lots of plants for sale!
