Enjoy greenery, cascading waterfalls, and views of the ocean at Hawaii Tropical Bioreserve and Garden. The garden's fertile, volcanic soil benefits the growth of more than 2,000 tropical species, including an extraordinary collection of palm trees and bromeliads. The garden also functions as a preservation center for tropical plants that have been jeopardized by rain forest destruction. The trek is easy and leisurely, thanks to boardwalks with benches on most trails. Parking is free, and the garden provides umbrellas if it's raining. Because the garden is in a natural valley where temperatures might get quite hot, it's a good idea to bring water and insect repellent. We loved our visit here. The initial walkway to get down into the gardens is very steep. It was a struggle walking back up for some so be prepared for that. Plants were amazing. Nice trails. Well maintained. We especially loved seeing so many orchids in their natural habitat hanging on the side of a tree. There is no cell service in the gardens so keep that in mind.

Awesome place to take a walk and be surrounded by Mother Nature's beauty. I spent 2 hours there just sitting and enjoying the sounds and sights. Do not forget to look up, the view is amazing! The road through the scenic route is a bumpy ride, drive slower, there are sharp turns and one at a time car bridges. Lastly check the weather, bring reef safe sunscreen and bug repellent, there are a lot of mosquitoes and they are bigger!
