Downs Park remains one of my favorites. Always clean, there are restrooms near the playground. New play structures were installed over the winter. My 4 year-old grandson loves the new approximately 2 story tall towers and slide; they have tops to keep the adventuresome children contained but like anywhere else you need to keep watch on your child. The paved walking trails on the backside of the park remain peaceful and enjoyable. There is a walking bridge from the waterside of the park to the backside however the paved approach is moderately steep and is likely difficult for those in wheelchairs.

Great view of the Chesapeake and a very nice play structure with dual tube slides. Though the people beach is temporarily closed, the dog beach, and the fishing pier are open. The paved trails are in very nice condition. There are unpaved trails as well. The paved trails are pretty much flat except for a few slight inclines and the incline required to cross the bridge over the public road that runs through the park. There is a marsh area, which has great turtle viewing on warmer days. There are abundant osprey and many other birds and other critters. There are port-a-potties by the main parking lot, and real bathrooms in the visitor center. Even after the visitor center is closed, there are nice, clean real bathrooms near the viewing pier at the marsh, which is adjacent to the entrance to the dog beach. Great for non-strenuous, relaxing bike rides for the entire family under a canopy of trees.
