What a surprise to find such a superb and rounded collection of European art outside London, Paris or Munich. Don’t miss the garden!

It is astounding how many important, beautiful works are gathered in one place. You will see art that you have studied in books. An intimate space that allows you to enjoy the art undisturbed. The staff is friendly and the kiosk's serene, tranquil setting is the very definition of relaxation. Most of the art work has been fully restored. The subjects seem to leap out from the canvas. With the bright colors and sharp images as opposed to the dark and dusty images that we are used to seeing in other museums, it is easy to appreciate these classic paintings Finally, the gift shop is surprising and delightful. Not your normal collection of tchotchokes. Rather a strong collection of books and reproductions at reasonable prices. The children's section is not just for kids. I had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon at the Norton and I highly recommend it.

Norton Simon is a treasure of a museum. It is right off the 134 freeway in Pasadena. So much to see. My favorite part is how you can download the app and get a private little tour right from your cell phone. Love the garden as well so beautiful. Parking is free and if you have your student ID you get in for free. I love going to Norton Simon for my weekend outing.
