We didn't like Sam A. Baker State Park. We LOVED it! This is one of the most beautiful, well kept, peaceful state parks I have ever been to. The staff are all welcoming, helpful and polite. The visitors center is informational and interactive with live creatures! The water is so clear you can see all the way to the bottom! Bring goggles and you can swim with all the fun fish. The grill is delicious. Our cabin was spotless, comfortable and had everything one would need on a vacation. We can't wait to come back! A+++++++
Our favorite state park in Missouri! Our extended family has been making annual trips in the fall for almost 25 years. We stay in the cabins, enjoy the hiking and biking trails and trips to Big creek. We have also floated the St. Francois River that borders the park. You are away from city lights and will see an amazing amount of stars.
