  • Interesting history of a coal miner's life. Tour of the coal mine was interesting. It's unimaginable how the miner's were able to work in such low ceilings, unable to stand.  more »
  • HEADS UP FOR THOSE PLANNING ON COMING TO THE MINE!!! In 2018, the mine closed down due to lack of money and a lack of volunteers. Although Google still lists the mine as open, it is in fact closed until further notice. Once the mine reopens, if it does reopen, I will change this review to reflect that. But until then, I just figured I would warn anyone who is planning on coming out to the mine for a tour. Last time, It is CLOSED.
  • This place was a great little secret. I have driven by it for years in my travels. Today we stopped and am happy we did. It's tucked off the main road quite a bit but well worth it. The staff were very friendly and informative on our tour of the old coal mine. NOTICE: they only take cash.
