Litchfield Country Club, Pawleys Island

#4 of 10 in Golf in Pawleys Island
Golf Course · Hidden Gem · Outdoor Activity
Litchfield Country Club was among the initial eight courses built on the Grand Strand. And it was the first course in the Pawleys Island/Litchfield area. While it's popular for courses today to tweak their design, Litchfield Country Club hasn't taken that path. Open for play in 1966, the course has maintained its original features, including player friendly greenside pathways for bump and run approach shots. Ranked one of the world's 50 best by Conde Nast Traveler, the gracious charms of this exclusive country club signature course are enjoyed by a limited number of visiting golfers. The mature tree-lined fairways wind amid giant oaks and shimmering lakes of a former Carolina rice plantation, creating an extraordinarily challenging country club experience. This traditionally styled layout is the flagship of the historic plantation courses. You'll find Litchfield Country Club to be a preferred destination because of its country club atmosphere.

  • Nice spread with lots of selection for Sunday Brunch. The omelette station and fresh carving station are the best. They also have special event dinners. This is a hidden gem in Pawleys.  more »
  • One of the oldest courses on the strand and we were pleased to see we didn't have to pay for the history. The course is a great vacation golf spot. It's not a long course but well design and plenty....  more »

  • Really nice course that was well maintained. Greens were fast when we were there and the fairways were in great condition. Not a ton of hazards compared to a lot of other places but enough to keep it interesting. Kind of off the beaten path but a lot less expensive (and they run deals) than a lot of places in Myrtle
  • Now this little Gem is something to be proud of. Great course. Tough but fair. Tight aproach shots onto postage stamps. Great Great Course. Can't say enough about the scenery and the feel of this course. Awesomeness
