  • Great place for science nerds or kids with a passion for science. There's no bathroom, but there's a huge parking area large enough to turn around a bus. Go through the switchback in the barbed wire.....  more »
  • Don't go here expecting to find giant dinosaur bones. This site is from a 300 million year old sea bed so all you will find are fossils of small shells and some plant life. It's fun, but not so...  more »

  • I love this kind of stuff! While I tried my hand at digging, my hubby found nice specimens just walking around looking at the ground! Remember to be respectful and do not litter.
  • Scenic trails mixed with the specific attraction of the rich fossil beds make this a place the curious old and young can both appreciate and enjoy! There exit is easy to get to from the road (although it comes up fast, so watch out!). The ramp is fairly short, so if you are traveling at speed in a large vehicle or towing anything you will definitely want to be careful. The entrance has a pedestrian only type of gate (to keep vehicles out). Fossils are right on top of the ground in many areas and easy to access. Little to no digging is necessary however it seems like most everyone brings some tools.
