What an amazing time! We enjoyed the rapids, the beautiful hiking to the water falls, the nice stops and relaxing boat ride down the river. The last part of the day is a little long in the hot heat but the views and cold swimming make up for it! We had a great guide and had a wonderful time.

Hualapai River Runners provides an excellent rafting experience. One star taken away for bus driver who kept stopping to tell us about cactus and rocks an the way. We really just wanted to get to the river. I’d be willing to give a star back if the guide had better narrative along the way. It wasn’t bad- he told us about some formations and names of the rapids, and at the same time I would have enjoyed stories about the people there and/or some more history. Amazing tour and the hike before lunch was 100% worth it. The whole thing is 10/10 scenery. Tips: A) That water is cold, like 46°F cold and even though it’s sunny, it’s also windy. While a wetsuit is the only solution I can think of, I noticed the guides wore dark quick dry clothing-long sleeves and tights. B) Wear shoes that can get wet and are good for a hike up a waterfall (flip flops = bad). C) Have a plan for supper, which might be calling in your order to the lodge while you’re on the way back. D) That ride back on the bus is over two hours. Just accept it. E) Tip your guide. (See what I did there?)
