The Eighth Maine Regiment Memorial Building is an authentic, Victorian era, seashore lodge and living history museum. The building was designed in classic Queen Anne cottage style by Fassett & Thompson. Construction was started in 1888 and completed in the Fall of 1891.

  • A great surprise while we were on Peaks Island to wander into this house and then get a history of Maine in the Civil War from one of the docents. Sat in rocking chairs while he told us tales. Very....  more »
